The available arm lengths now range from just 120 mm to 1200 mm, and the maximum payload from 1 kg to 50 kg, to speed up a wide variety of picking and placing, packing/unpacking and mechanical assembly tasks.
The YK-XG and YK-TW SCARA orbital series incorporate advanced features that ensure efficient movement and superior long-term accuracy. By placing the tip rotation axis directly in line with the speed reduction gear, and utilizing a specially designed hollow motor, the YK-XG beltless drive enables rapid R-axis rotation under heavy displacement loads, which require deceleration in traditional belt-driven robots. The latest models boast an XY-axis speed 45% faster than previous generations, now reaching 7.6 m/s, an angular velocity 35% higher at 2.3 m/s, and an R-axis speed 93% higher at 1700°/s.
With magnetic position resolvers, instead of the optical encoders traditionally used in other industrial SCARA ranges, Yamaha's SCARA robots benefit from greater noise immunity and increased reliability by eliminating the effects of contamination such as dust or grease found in industrial environments. Design features also simplify maintenance to maximize uptime for increased productivity.
The versatile range offers many options for system integrators, including the dustproof and drip-proof YK-XGP models that can withstand environmental contaminants, the YK-XGC cleanroom robots, the YK-XGS wall-mount and reverse-mount configurations, and the YK-XR series for cost-sensitive applications.
